Singapore will host the 48th AMAF and Related Meetings from 27 to 31 October 2026, as part of its AMAF Chairmanship over the next year. Singapore last hosted the AMAF meetings in 2016.

Themed "Rooted in Partnerships, Growing Our Resilience", the 48th AMAF and Related Meetings will bring together Ministers and Senior Officials from all 11 ASEAN Member States, as well as ASEAN’s Plus Three Partners - the People’s Republic of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The meetings seek to advance regional cooperation to strengthen food security, and build a more resilient and sustainable agriculture and forestry sector. Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Ms Grace Fu, will chair the 48th AMAF and 26th AMAF Plus Three Meetings.

The 48th AMAF Meeting comes at a time when ASEAN’s agriculture and forestry sector comes under evolving pressures from climate variability, market uncertainties and structural transitions in regional food systems. The meeting will provide a platform for Ministers to take stock of regional cooperation and exchange views on priorities for strengthening the region’s food security and agricultural resilience. Discussions are expected to focus on practical cooperation to improve productivity, facilitate knowledge sharing, foster innovation, support rural and farming communities, and reinforce collective efforts that contribute to ASEAN’s long-term resilience.

To strengthen public-private collaboration in ASEAN’s food security and sustainability goals, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) will organise the inaugural ASEAN Agrifood Investment and Partnership Forum and the SFA-Temasek Roundtable on ASEAN’s Food System Transformation. These events will provide additional opportunities for dialogue among ASEAN policymakers, industry representatives, investors and other stakeholders on issues relating to the region’s food security and sustainability.

Minister Fu will also hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts. She will participate in the exchange of i) a renewed Memorandum of Cooperation with Japan, ii) letters for the renewal of Memorandum of Understanding with China; and iii) a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Korea.

Minister Fu said: “In an increasingly complex global environment shaped by climate change and supply chain disruptions, food security remains a shared priority for ASEAN. The 48th AMAF reaffirms our collective commitment to stronger regional cooperation and more resilient agri-food systems. Singapore looks forward to working closely with our ASEAN partners to advance practical solutions that strengthen food security and support the sustainable growth of our region”.
