Role of JFP
JFP started operations in 1969 and serves as a central point for the receiving and distribution of imported seafood and contributes significantly to Singapore’s seafood industry.
Ensuring Safety of Seafood
The wholesale and distribution of seafood at JFP is regulated under prevailing food laws. SFA officers routinely inspect and check seafood produce and verify permit declarations for seafood produce that are at a higher risk of contamination and food-borne diseases. SFA officers may also collect samples for laboratory analysis as food can be contaminated anywhere along the supply chain.
