Renewing your licence before it expires is critical to prevent disruptions to your business. You will not be able to renew your licence once it has expired, and you must cease operations immediately. You will have to submit a new application to restart operations.

Individuals or sole proprietorships also need to clear any CPF Medisave arrears before you renew your licence. You will not be able to renew your licence if you have outstanding CPF Medisave payments. This is because under the CPF Act, self-employed persons are required to contribute to Medisave if their annual net trade income is more than $6,000. Please log in to the CPF website for more information on your Medisave arrears.
You should make timely payment of the licence fees before the licence expiry in order to renew your licence. There are 3 ways to pay:
GIRO

Licensees are also required to seek approval from SFA for any structural changes to be made to the licensed premises before commencing works. This is to enable SFA to confirm that the changes in layout are in compliance with SFA’s food safety requirements.

For example, if the licence is registered in your personal name and you later wish to change it to your company's name, a new application must be submitted.
If another individual, such as your brother, takes over the business operations and wishes to have the licence in his name, the licence cannot be transferred. He must submit an application in his own name.
